Cruises

Tenerife – Gibraltar
16-30.03.2024

We invite you to take part in an extraordinary ocean cruise in Atlantic waters on a well-equipped Lagoon 40 catamaran (solar panels, radar, AIS, RIB pontoon).

We have several days of sailing ahead of us with no port calls and no visibility of land.
We have more than 970 Mm to go.

We will start our adventure in a sunny marina in the south of Tenerife (Marina Amarilla San Miguel de Abona) from where we will set off towards the picturesque island of Gran Canaria. Depending on weather conditions, we will sail around the island from the south or north to reach the capital “Las Palmas” where we will stop in the cult, the largest marina in the Canaries, Puerto Deporvido de Las Palmas (known, among others, for the ARC regatta).

After exploring the tradition-rich city, we’ll cast our moorings and set off on a long-distance cruise to the hard-to-reach, “Selvagens Islands” national park that is a reserve for many species of birds. With luck, there will be a chance to see the breeding ground of Petrels.

There we will feel the extraordinary wildness and nature where the open ocean and the sharp rocks of the archipelago come together. There are only two people living on the Main Island, whose job is to observe the animals.

After an exciting stop, we will raise anchor and set course for the land of eternal spring that is Madeira, to the island’s capital and main port of Funchal.

With favorable weather conditions, we should have enough time to spend a full day exploring this beautiful island.

The next step is a relatively short sailing to the island of Porto Santo, famous for its unusually long, beautiful sandy beach. There we will go to the natural pools of “Salemas“, Terra Cha National Park and rest before the longest ocean cross of the Porto Santo – Gibraltar route.

The last step is about 4 good sailing without stops. It will be a great opportunity to meet numerous species of mammals and birds … and unforgettable sunrises and sunsets.

We will end the cruise in the marina Alcaidesa, located near the Rock of Gibraltar.

We recommend staying a little longer after the cruise in Gibraltar to visit the monkey reserve and the interesting city of Gibraltar.

The route to be covered is about 970nm (160h).

*In case of unfavorable weather conditions, it is possible that the captain will decide to cancel the visit to the island of Gran Canaria.
